ÆGIR is here…
It’s been a very busy end of the year for all Project Hydro team members and developers. The Hydro community has been asking for the Hydro wallet for some time and now we’re very happy to announce the release of Hydro Web Wallet- ÆGIR.
The ÆGIR Web Wallet provides a convenient way to interact with all aspects of the Hydro ecosystem. To interact with Snowflake and the wallet you must install MetaMask and have a balance of Ethereum in it.
Why did we choose the ÆGIR name for our Hydro Wallet?
ÆGIR is the god of the sea in Norse mythology, also known as a king of all the oceans. Just like God of the sea is the most important part, governing the sea, we think that the Hydro wallet- ÆGIR will be the most important part of our Hydro ecosystem.
Benefits of ÆGIR Web Wallet
The ÆGIR Web Wallet has numerous benefits. Some of them are listed below:
- Using the wallet is really simple and User friendly.
- Deposit Hydro from Ethereum to Hydro wallet and vice versa.
- Stake and earn rewards in the form of Hydro.
- Buy Hydro tokens using Ethereum directly from the wallet.
- Display all of the Hydro deposits and withdrawal transactions.
- Keep track of your real-time balance of the Hydro tokens, market data, and total wallet value.
- Display Hydro balance exists in the Ethereum wallet, Snowflake wallet, and staking.
Overview of your Hydro Balance
To check overview of all of your Hydro holdings you hold in your Ethereum Wallet, Snowflake Wallet and how many staked by following below steps:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Overview tab.
- On top, displayed information about how many Total Hydro and Total Value In USD you have.
- Check No of Hydro tokens and equivalent values in USD you have:
- Ethereum Wallet : display tokens from your Ethereum Wallet.
- Snowflake Wallet : display tokens from your Hydro Snowflake Wallet.
- Staking : display how many tokens of yours are staked.
Buy Hydro tokens
If you do not hold Hydro tokens, you can buy it directly from this wallet. To do the same just follow below steps:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Wallet tab.
- In the “Buy and Deposit to Hydro wallet” section, enter the number of Hydro tokens you want to buy.
- Below you can see how much Ethereum you will need to purchase that much Hydro tokens.
- Click on the “Buy Hydro” button.
- Confirm the transaction from the MetaMask popup.
- Wait for the transaction to get successfully approved.
- Refresh the page and you can see the newly purchased tokens under Overview > Snowflake Wallet.
Deposit into Hydro Wallet
Follow below steps to transfer from Ethereum Wallet to Hydro Wallet:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Wallet tab.
- Click on the “Deposit” button under the “Hydro Wallet” section.
- In the “From” section, enter the number of Hydro tokens you want to deposit.
- Click on the “Confirm” button.
- Confirm the transaction from the MetaMask popup.
- Wait for the transaction to get successfully approved.
- Refresh the page and you can see the latest balance under Overview > Snowflake Wallet.
Withdraw from Hydro Wallet
Follow below steps to transfer from Hydro Wallet to Ethereum Wallet:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Wallet tab.
- Click on the “Withdraw” button under the “Hydro Wallet” section.
- In the “From” section, enter the number of Hydro tokens you want to withdraw.
- Click on the “Confirm” button.
- Confirm the transaction from the MetaMask popup.
- Wait for the transaction to get successfully approved.
- Refresh the page and you can see the latest balance under Overview > Ethereum Wallet.
Stake Hydro tokens
To stake Hydro tokens, you must have Hydro balance in either your Ethereum Wallet or Snowflake Wallet. So to stake Hydro tokens follow the below steps:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Staking tab.
- For Staking, use the 1st section from the Staking tab.
- Enter the number of Hydro tokens you want to stake [Note: Minimum amount of 222,222 Hydro required to stake].
- Click on the “Stake” button.
- Confirm the transaction from the MetaMask popup.
- Wait for the transaction to get successfully approved.
- Check your staked Hydro tokens under the Overview tab.
Unstake Hydro tokens
You can unstake your tokens fully or partially. You can even do so before maturity but with the loss of some benefits. So to unstake Hydro tokens follow the below steps:
- Open ÆGIR Web Wallet.
- Navigate to the Staking tab.
- For Unstaking, use the 2nd section from the Staking tab.
- Enter the number of Hydro tokens you want to unstake [Note: Unstake amount must have to be less than or equal to staked amount].
- Click on the “Unstake” button.
- Confirm the transaction from the MetaMask popup.
- Wait for the transaction to get successfully approved.
- Check your Hydro balance under the Overview tab.
(PS: Wallet will be live for the general public on Monday 10:00 AM UTC, until then it will be given to community testers so they can play around with it and weed out bugs, if there are any.)
